Title: SAP PP/MES Architect

Location: Fort Worth, TX(Hybrid) Job Type: Contract

SAP PP/MES Architect Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP PP/MES Architect to support complex manufacturing processes within a highly integrated SAP S/4HANA environment. This role requires deep functional expertise across SAP PP, PEO, and QM, strong integration knowledge, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to design scalable, efficient manufacturing solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in complex assembly manufacturing, MRO, and industry exposure to Aerospace & Defense or Automotive.
This is a senior-level position requiring strong communication skills, functional leadership, and the ability to guide design, development, and testing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Architecture:

  • Lead the design and implementation of SAP PP, PEO, and QM solutions supporting manufacturing, shop-floor processes, and MES integration.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, process flows, and development-ready documentation.
  • Work closely with ABAP developers to guide technical solutions and validate deliverables through testing.
  • Break down complex business needs into structured processes and development items.

Functional Expertise & Configuration:

  • Perform hands-on configuration in SAP PP, PEO, and QM modules.
  • Support integration across PP-MM and PP-QM, ensuring accurate material staging, quality processes, and production executions.
  • Manage configuration and process design around:
  • Product rework / rework from stock
  • MRO processes
  • Complex assembly manufacturing
  • Parameter Unit Effectivity (PUE) for aircraft builds (preferred)

Manufacturing & Project Systems:

  • Provide expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and project stock tied to WBS elements.
  • Offer theoretical understanding of SAP Project Systems (PS), including network orders, PP-PS integration, MA, and IK transactions.

Platform & Technology:

  • Work within S/4HANA manufacturing environments and support Fiori-based applications.
  • Ensure solutions align with SAP best practices and enterprise architecture standards.

Project Execution:

  • Participate in or lead workstreams across multiple SAP implementation projects (minimum 2 3 full lifecycle experiences preferred).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manufacturing SMEs to ensure alignment and validation.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a proactive, results-oriented mindset throughout project cycles.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12 20 years of SAP PP/MES/PEO/QM functional consulting experience.
  • Proven hands-on configuration expertise in SAP PP, PEO, and QM.
  • Strong understanding of rework, MRO processes, and complex manufacturing scenarios.
  • Experience with integrations across PP-MM, PP-QM, and adjacent modules.
  • Strong ability to gather requirements, create functional specs, and guide technical development teams.
  • Experience working with S/4HANA and Fiori applications.
  • Minimum 2 3 full lifecycle SAP implementations in Production Planning and Quality modules.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP, project stock management, and WBS-driven processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace & Defense or Automotive industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Parameter Unit Effectivity (PUE) for aircraft build management.
  • Exposure to SAP PS with understanding of network orders and PP-PS integration scenarios.
