Job Details

ASSYST is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Analyst to join our direct client's technology team in Boca Raton, FL.
This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software applications by developing and executing comprehensive test plans, with a strong focus on test automation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating and maintaining automation frameworks, writing test scripts for web and mobile platforms, and analyzing quality metrics to drive continuous improvement. You will act as an internal quality consultant, collaborating closely with developers and business partners to identify and resolve issues.
Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Job Location: Boca Raton, Florida (Fully Onsite role. No remote allowed)
Key Responsibilities

  • Test Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute formal test plans, test strategies, and test cases to ensure software quality.
  • Automation Framework: Create, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework for both web and mobile applications.
  • Scripting & Automation: Author, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using modern tools and programming languages.
  • Backend & API Testing: Perform in-depth backend database testing and validation using SQL, as well as comprehensive testing of web services (APIs).
  • Defect Management: Diligently document all problems, track defects through their lifecycle, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • CI/CD Integration: Create, manage, and execute automated test jobs through CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins.
  • Quality Metrics & Reporting: Define, track, and analyze quality assurance metrics such as defect counts, test results, and test status to evaluate and improve software processes.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with developers to resolve product glitches or design issues, and act as a subject matter expert, potentially coaching junior technical staff.
  • Process Improvement: Perform quality audits across IT functions to ensure adherence to quality standards, procedures, and methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Overall Experience: 5-7 years of experience in software testing, with a strong emphasis on backend database testing and test automation.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a systems development or business-related role.
  • Web Services Testing: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience testing web services.
  • Database Skills: Solid understanding and practical experience with SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting using Power BI.
  • Automation Frameworks: Minimum of 1 year of experience with modern automation tools like Playwright or similar.
  • Automation Tooling: Hands-on experience with QA automation tools, preferably from the SmartBear suite (ReadyAPI, LoadUI, TestComplete, BitBar) and Selenium WebDriver.
  • Programming/Scripting: Good understanding of Groovy and/or Java scripting, with a clear grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • CI/CD & Build Tools: Experience creating and managing jobs in Jenkins, with a clear understanding of build tools like Maven or Gradle.
  • Core Competencies: Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services, particularly Microsoft Azure.
