What You Will Do :

The Energy and Environment (E&E) group within Guidehouse's Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure (ES&I) practice, provides technical and market analysis for new and emerging energy and decarbonization technologies. We serve multiple Federal agencies assisting with the design, development, and deployment of transformational programs that accelerate adoption of technologies and enable the energy transition.

The Building Technology and Energy Efficiency Program Director will be responsible for leading a diverse team of professional in support of a large Federal Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy program. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Managing a team of up to 50 individuals including administrative, financial, and technical experts.
  • Collaborating with client leaders on the design and development of the program.
  • Managing efforts of the program on-time, on-budget, and at a high-level of quality.
  • Communicating performance, solutions, and strategies to clients through reports and presentations.
  • Advising on the technical direction of program elements related to energy efficiency and building technologies, grid resilience, demand side programs, energy rebates, and other related areas.
  • Representing Guidehouse and the program publicly.
  • Cultivating and maintaining working partnerships with a diverse set of stakeholders, including federal and local government agencies, industry representatives and manufacturers, trade organizations, and efficiency advocates.


What You Will Need :
  • Requires a University Bachelor's degree.
  • Ten (10+) years of relevant work experience focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, building technologies, electrification, energy savings, energy storage, grid resiliency, and utility programs.
  • Five (5+) years of management and supervisory experience, including experience managing teams of more than 20 people.
  • Ability to apply significant consulting and industry expertise.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently.
  • or a US Permanent Resident status (due to the nature of client engagements).


What Would Be Nice To Have :
  • Masters degree in a related field.
  • Experience working at the federal, state, or local level.
  • Experience participating in industry organizations.
  • Experience working within utilities or at the local / municipal levels - for either the public or private sector.
  • Familiarity or prior experience working with programs at related Federal agencies that address energy efficiency.
  • Significant client management experience.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed organization and time management skills.
  • Preference will be given to a candidate who resides within a reasonable distance of a Guidehouse Office.
