Technical Project Manager Data / Agile

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead data management projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies, hands-on experience guiding Data teams, and the ability to manage project delivery from planning through execution. This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring effective team collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee project planning and execution, including defining project scope, setting milestones, and managing project plans and timelines.

  • Track progress toward deliverables, proactively identify risks or impediments, and escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution and project success.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for status reporting, providing timely and transparent updates to stakeholders and leadership on project health, risks, and accomplishments.

  • Foster a collaborative, agile culture within the team, promoting adaptive planning, iterative development, and accountability for results.

  • Work closely with product owners and technical leads to prioritize the product backlog, clarify requirements, and align deliverables with business goals.

  • Support the engineering team by removing obstacles, allocating resources, and ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices.

  • Utilize project management tools (such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar) to manage tasks, track progress, and visualize workflow.

  • Ensure adherence to Microsoft technology stack standards and contribute to process improvements and adoption of best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or Agile Project Manager leading data management teams.

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe) and experience facilitating agile ceremonies.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage project plans, track milestones, and report on project status to various stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Microsoft Teams).

  • Ability to identify and escalate risks or issues that may impact project delivery.

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agile or Scrum certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, PMI-ACP).

  • Experience working in enterprise-scale Data environments.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
