Job Description
Justification: Required to assist the mTIB developer with integration and hardware validation support for transit systems at OCTA and NFTA
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide hardware integration, validation, and troubleshooting support for internally developed hardware boards to be deployed transit sites.
- Collaborate closely with the product development team to ensure hardware and software components integrate seamlessly with existing transit infrastructure.
- Conduct comprehensive hardware validation and acceptance testing to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with transit authority standards.
- Support deployment, configuration, and commissioning of custom hardware in field environments.
- Analyze hardware issues reported from field operations and develop effective corrective actions.
- Work with cross-functional teams including software engineers, system architects, vendors, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for hardware configurations, integration processes, test plans, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for hardware improvements based on field feedback and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards applicable to public transit systems.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5-7 years of experience in hardware engineering, integration, and field support, preferably within transportation or transit systems.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems hardware, industrial communication protocols (e.g., RS-485, CAN, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
- Experience with hardware validation, test automation, and system integration methodologies.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, protocol analyzers, and network sniffers.
