Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Researches, designs, develops, and tests structures, propulsion units, and guidance and control subsystems for aircraft, spacecraft/vehicles, missiles, power plants, satellites, and related systems. Analyzes aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Some elements of aerospace engineering are aerodynamics, propulsion, control or flight design and structures. Aerospace engineering addresses the integration of all components that constitute an aerospace vehicle (subsystems including power, communications, thermal control, life support, etc.) and its life cycle (design, temperature, pressure, radiation, velocity, lifetime), leading to extraordinary challenges and solutions specific to the domain of aerospace systems engineering.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: N/A
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Receives assignments in the form of specific tasks for the work to be completed. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives and schedules.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is closely supervised. Follows specific, detailed instructions.
IMPACT: Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs.
LIASON: Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the group.
