Job Details

Please note that this is a 1 year contract position.

Position is fully onsite.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field such as Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronic Systems Technology, Metrology Technology, or equivalent experience in a similar industrial organization.

  • Experience working with electrical or fiber optic wire products and small components.

  • Prior experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.

  • Solid communication skills, including strong writing abilities and fluency in English.

  • Good hand-eye coordination for assembling fiber optic products.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Strong planning skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build samples of fiber optic products and support moderate levels of production assembly.

  • Complete sample and production assemblies within required timelines.

  • Collect, record, and analyze product test data using data systems or Excel spreadsheets.

  • Provide feedback and suggestions on manufacturing processes and product designs, and assist in performing failure analysis.

  • Communicate issues in a timely manner to the engineer or operations lead.

  • Develop competency with a wide range of manufacturing tools, lab test equipment, and fiber optic products after training.

  • Follow department safety and efficiency protocols.

  • Complete training in lab processes, procedures, and test methods as required.

  • Collaborate with lab staff, including engineers and technicians, in a team-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with fiber optic products and a clear understanding of customer expectations.

  • Train other technicians and operators as needed.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for working with engineers to build prototypes and moderate production levels of fiber optic products, as well as assist in developing manufacturing processes.
