Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in a related field such as Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronic Systems Technology, Metrology Technology, or equivalent experience in a similar industrial organization.
Experience working with electrical or fiber optic wire products and small components.
Prior experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
Solid communication skills, including strong writing abilities and fluency in English.
Good hand-eye coordination for assembling fiber optic products.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong planning skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Build samples of fiber optic products and support moderate levels of production assembly.
Complete sample and production assemblies within required timelines.
Collect, record, and analyze product test data using data systems or Excel spreadsheets.
Provide feedback and suggestions on manufacturing processes and product designs, and assist in performing failure analysis.
Communicate issues in a timely manner to the engineer or operations lead.
Develop competency with a wide range of manufacturing tools, lab test equipment, and fiber optic products after training.
Follow department safety and efficiency protocols.
Complete training in lab processes, procedures, and test methods as required.
Collaborate with lab staff, including engineers and technicians, in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrate familiarity with fiber optic products and a clear understanding of customer expectations.
Train other technicians and operators as needed.
Job Description:
This position is responsible for working with engineers to build prototypes and moderate production levels of fiber optic products, as well as assist in developing manufacturing processes.
