We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Architect to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions on the AWS cloud. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise across AWS data services, modern data architectures, data modeling, and end-to-end data platform engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and design cloud-native data platforms using AWS services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, S3, EMR, Lambda, DynamoDB).
  • Develop data lake and data warehouse architectures ensuring scalability, governance, and security.
  • Lead the design of ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and other orchestration tools.
  • Build data models (conceptual, logical, physical) for analytical and operational use cases.
  • Define and enforce data governance, metadata management, lineage, and quality frameworks.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate data technologies and recommend best-fit solutions for business needs.
  • Optimize data storage, transformation, and querying for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices, IAM policies, encryption, and data privacy standards.
  • Provide leadership in cloud migration efforts, including legacy data platform modernization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS Big Data & Analytics Services:
  • S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Lake Formation, Kinesis, Lambda
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and distributed processing frameworks (PySpark/Spark).
  • Expertise in data modeling, warehousing concepts (Kimball/Inmon), and OLTP/OLAP systems.
  • Experience creating data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration, and data pipeline automation.
  • Knowledge of security, IAM, encryption (KMS), networking, and cloud architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps, CI/CD, IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
