Description
We are looking for an experienced Front End Developer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Syracuse, New York. In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of WordPress themes, ensuring compatibility and optimal functionality. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in modern front-end technologies and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-friendly solutions.
Responsibilities:
Upgrade the Cobalt theme to ensure compatibility with the latest version of WordPress and organizational standards.
Replace Customizer settings with a comprehensive Theme Options page for improved usability.
Identify and document outdated plugins across the ecosystem, providing recommendations for updates.
Troubleshoot and resolve any site-specific conflicts during theme upgrades.
Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of front-end designs.
Maintain and enhance front-end frameworks to align with project requirements.
Implement responsive designs to optimize user experience across all devices.
Provide detailed documentation for all updates and changes made to themes and plugins.
Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices in front-end development.
Participate in regular meetings to align project goals and timelines.
Requirements
Proficiency in React.js and JavaScript for dynamic front-end development.
Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS for creating responsive designs.
Experience working with front-end frameworks to streamline development.
Expertise in WordPress development, including themes and plugins.
Familiarity with WordPress plugin management and customization.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve compatibility issues across WordPress versions.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce thorough documentation.
Effective communication skills to collaborate within a team environment.
