Job Title: Storage and Virtualization Engineer

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Storage and Virtualization Engineer to lead and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise storage systems and VMware-based virtualization environments. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring infrastructure scalability, reliability, and performance across the organization, while aligning with IT strategies and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, configuration, and optimization of storage, hyper-converged infrastructure, server hardware, and VMware SDDC software solutions.
Recommend hardware specifications, provision application environments, and ensure best practices in server and storage deployments.
Plan and manage infrastructure-related projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and deliverables meet organizational expectations.
Provide senior-level technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture strategies and drive automation initiatives within virtualization environments.
Assess systems and implement complex, multi-phased migration and modernization projects.
Ensure compliance with architectural standards throughout the application development lifecycle.
Create and maintain detailed enterprise architecture diagrams covering infrastructure, business processes, data flow, and security.
Manage infrastructure capacity, performance tuning, and troubleshooting efforts across storage and virtualization environments.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of hands-on experience in hyper-converged compute environments and multi-tiered storage architectures.
8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering Enterprise Storage systems (Dell EMC VPLEX, VxRail, VxRack, vSAN, ScaleIO, Pure Storage, Rubrik).
8+ years of experience with VMware SDDC software stack in enterprise settings.
8+ years of experience with scripting and infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Azure ARM templates, and Azure CLI.
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
Strong communication skills verbal, written, and presentation suitable for both technical and executive audiences.
Previous experience supporting IT projects within the education sector is highly desirable.
Comfortable operating in complex, heterogeneous systems environments with exposure to various hardware/software platforms.
Experience with Cisco ACI and other application-level provisioning or hosting technologies is a plus.
