Job Title: Java Production Support Lead
Location: Charlotte, NC/Atlanta, GA (Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Java Production Support Lead to manage and lead critical production support activities for enterprise Java-based applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java development, excellent troubleshooting skills, and proven leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day production support operations for Java-based applications.
Manage and resolve critical application issues, performance bottlenecks, and outages with minimal downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, infrastructure, QA, and business users.
Ensure timely resolution of L2/L3 support tickets and maintain SLA adherence.
Provide root cause analysis (RCA) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor production systems using tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar.
Coordinate release and deployment activities for hotfixes and patches.
Develop and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and incident reports.
Mentor junior support engineers and drive knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 9 years of experience in Java/J2EE-based application development and support.
Strong understanding of production support methodologies and incident management processes (ITIL knowledge preferred).
Experience with troubleshooting Java applications, analyzing logs, and fixing defects.
Proficient in SQL, Unix/Linux shell scripting, and debugging tools.
Hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, New Relic).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead under pressure.
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in financial services, retail, or healthcare domain.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
