Data Security Specialist

About the Role:

We need a Data Security Specialist to help safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of organizational data. This role involves implementing and supporting security measures that protect data at rest and in motion, while contributing to moderately complex and advanced projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of cloud service architecture and emerging data protection technologies, and will work both independently and collaboratively to deliver approved security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support data encryption technologies across cloud, desktop, email, and file share environments
• Apply AI concepts to enhance data protection strategies
• Provide expert guidance on data security best practices and recommendations
• Understand and manage digital certificates and certificate authorities
• Assist with upgrades, installations, testing, and configuration of data security components
• Serve as a primary contact for escalation and remediation of critical security issues
• Develop and maintain API scripts to automate workflows and integrate systems
• Respond promptly to unplanned events and provide after-hours support as needed
• Communicate technical updates and alerts on known issues, hotfixes, and releases
• Demonstrate working knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, and security architecture
• Utilize Postgres SQL for data management and analysis
• Integrate solutions with SIEM platforms and contribute to monitoring and knowledge object development

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data security or a closely related discipline
• Proven experience with data encryption tools across multiple platforms
• Strong understanding of AI and their application in security
• Proficiency in managing digital certificates and secure communication protocols
• Hands-on experience with API scripting and automation
• Familiarity with Postgres SQL and SIEM integration
• Solid grasp of operating systems, network protocols, and security architecture
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to critical issues
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours when required
• Adaptability to emerging technologies and vendor solutions
• This is a full-time W2 role, not C2C
