Business Analyst

About the Role:

The Business Analyst supports technology initiatives in a fast-paced financial services environment. The role requires experience with SQL, Agile methodologies, and documentation practices, along with a working knowledge of financial markets. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for technology and operational projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered according to Agile methodologies
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including process flows, functional specifications, and status reports
• Use SQL to extract, analyze, and validate data to support business and technical requirements
• Assist in the creation of reports and dashboards for business users
• Participate in daily Agile ceremonies and provide regular updates on project progress
• Contribute to testing activities by developing test cases, executing UAT, and tracking defects

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
• 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with demonstrated proficiency in SQL
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and documentation tools
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of financial markets and supporting technologies
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks and report project status effectively
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PowerBI or other business intelligence/reporting tools
• Previous experience in a trading or trade support environment
• Familiarity with FIX protocol
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and command-line tools
• Understanding of Treasury functions such as collateral pledging, substitution, and collateral schedules
• Knowledge of Securities Finance, including stock borrow and loan processes
