Job Summary
A Tech Lead plays a pivotal role in managing the ecosystem within their line of business. Each day, they maintain a holistic view of the various applications in the ecosystem and their dependences. Ensuring a clear understanding of incoming requirements and their impacts is essential to prioritizing and scoping the necessary work. As Evergreen Lead plays a central role in coordinating project management efforts across various teams, ensuring that status updates, metrics, and deliverables are tracked and reported effectively. In a typical day, a Lead handles tasks ranging from project coordination and stakeholder communication to reporting and meeting facilitation.
Responsibilities :
- Ecosystem Overview and Dependency Management
A tech lead begins the day by reviewing the current state of the ecosystem, identifying dependencies across applications, and ensuring that any work related to technology lifecycle events or evergreen items is properly scoped. This requires coordination with various teams to capture necessary details and engage the right people for remediation efforts.
- Prioritization and Book of Work Management
They collaborate closely with project management and other stakeholders to validate the book of work. Tasks are reviewed to ensure proper prioritization, considering any relevant budgeting aspects. Whether it s standard SBA work or enterprise-wide initiatives, financial impacts are assessed, and any budget challenges are escalated as needed.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Reporting
Throughout the week, the tech lead provides updates to leadership via steering committees or monthly business reviews, summarizing key progress, highlighting risks, and ensuring all stakeholders have visibility into ongoing work.
- Intake Process Review
Managing the intake process, the tech lead reviews requests that come in daily or weekly, ranging from new business asks to risk management issues, such as addressing vulnerabilities requiring immediate attention. They ensure these requests are reviewed with the appropriate stakeholders and added to the prioritized work plan.
- Daily Stand-Ups and Escalation Management
Attending daily stand-ups, the tech lead monitors progress, offers support, and escalates issues when necessary. Their role is to ensure any bottlenecks or issues requiring higher-level intervention are addressed promptly, providing oversight and ensuring smooth execution of the work. Throughout the day, reach out to application teams and infrastructure teams to gather updates on various items, including project work managed by the Rumble team and other technical support teams. Collaborate with stakeholders, including the BAPD and AD teams, to ensure all items tracked in Evergreen are being addressed. Coordinate project management or project coordination efforts as required, particularly for legacy or one-off projects.
- Promote Enterprise standards
Collaborate with ITA and IT services teams to promote enterprise standards within the Line of Business (LoB). This helps reduce the use of non-standard technologies and ensures cost-effective solutions are maintained.
- Training and Info-sharing
Facilitate information sharing across Applications Development teams to improve efficiency in product deliveries. This may include developing the best practices or guidelines for remediating risk vulnerabilities.
- Reporting and Dashboards
Manage multiple dashboards, including the team s internal dashboard and broader ones like the enterprise dashboard. These dashboards reflect the progress of Evergreen projects, including technical support, project coordination, and full project management efforts. Ensure that data from these dashboards is shared in monthly steering committee meetings and weekly network transformation meetings, keeping leadership and stakeholders updated on Evergreen s progress.
- Project Coordination and Issue Tracking:
Handle ongoing project coordination tasks, including scheduling meetings, managing communication between infrastructure teams and AD teams, and ensuring that projects stay on track. Track down updates from stakeholders to ensure that all 116 active Evergreen items for the year are progressing as expected, following up on any outstanding issues.
