Job Title: Okta Integration Specialist
Location: Remote Contract Type: Contract
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Okta Integration Specialist with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and supporting authentication and user provisioning solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Okta SSO/MFA, modern authentication protocols, and Okta workflows, as well as the ability to migrate legacy systems to current security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Okta Integration & SSO/MFA
- Integrate various enterprise and third-party applications with Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Customize authentication flows for different application requirements.
- Legacy Application Migration
- Migrate header-based authentication applications to modern standards such as SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and OAuth 2.0.
- Ensure minimal downtime and data integrity during migration.
- User Provisioning & Directory Integration
- Implement Okta User Provisioning from external directories and Okta Universal Directory.
- Automate user lifecycle events such as onboarding, role changes, and deactivation.
- Okta Workflows & Lifecycle Management
- Build, maintain, and optimize Okta Workflows for end-to-end user lifecycle management.
- Automate repetitive provisioning and access management tasks.
- Access Management
- Onboard and offboard users to Okta ensuring secure and appropriate application access.
- Maintain compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Security Standards & Protocols
- Deep understanding of SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and JWT standards.
- Ensure authentication and authorization flows are secure and efficient.
- Development & Troubleshooting
- Perform hands-on development/coding in Okta (including custom scripts, hooks, or integrations).
- Troubleshoot and resolve authentication or provisioning service failures by analyzing issues and implementing corrective actions promptly.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Okta administration and integration.
- Proven ability to migrate applications from legacy authentication methods to modern standards.
- Strong scripting/coding skills for automation and customization within Okta.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
