Title: Information Security Analyst Project Lead
Location: Columbia, SC

Position Overview

The Information Security Analyst Project Lead will play a key role in preparing the organization for an IRS Safeguards Review. This position will coordinate and support both technical and administrative compliance activities related to IRS Publication 1075. The role requires strong security expertise, analytical capabilities, and experience with federal or regulatory compliance frameworks.


Daily Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing for an IRS Safeguards Review by supporting compliance efforts related to IRS Publication 1075.

  • Coordinate tasks and ensure the organization follows required technical and administrative security standards.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Review Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and assess their effectiveness; provide expert advice on Safeguard Review readiness.

  • Evaluate the Security Status Report (SSR), System Security Plans (SSPs), and System Security Assessments (SSAs) for compliance with IRS Pub 1075.

  • Assess the organization s implementation of required security controls and verify that evidence and artifacts meet IRS review expectations.

  • Identify relevant IRS SCSEMs (Safeguard Computer Security Evaluation Matrices) and evaluate compliance.

  • Provide technical guidance to remediate non-compliance with applicable SCSEM requirements.

  • Coordinate Safeguard Review preparation using established project management methodologies, including planning, communication, updates, and reporting.

  • Assist with post-review activities such as developing CAPs to address any findings identified during the IRS review.


Other Responsibilities

  • Provide expert security input regarding proposed technical solutions for applications and infrastructure, particularly regarding IRS Pub 1075 requirements.

  • Research and recommend potential security solutions to bring systems and infrastructure into alignment with IRS Pub 1075 compliance standards.
