Job Details

The Color Management Software organization at Apple is at the core of designing and implementing solutions for rendering visual media on displays. Examples of technologies we've developed include tone mapping, color management, and rendering high dynamic range (HDR) video, images, and graphics (UI); media composition, display brightness & ambient adaptation, and pro color features such as display presets. Our organization is also responsible for architecting content color management, optimizing color quality, and working with key partners on adopting new features. We are looking for candidates with strong engineering and mathematical intuition who are enthusiastic about building products that surprise and delight our customers.

Description The Color Management Software Engineer role includes 4 functions. Your work will include at least one among these functions: - Developing production software that renders visual media and performs display color management - Developing algorithms and architectures for color managing content, and related technologies - Developing tools and methodologies that characterize display color quality, and automate such analysis - Working with product and technology partners to prototype, demo and ship new color features on Apple products

Minimum Qualifications
  • Software development expertise in C, C++, or an equivalent language
  • Scripting expertise in Matlab, Python or an equivalent language
  • Software debugging skills and ability to work with development tools
  • Expertise in media, color, or display technologies
  • MS/PhD degree in Computer Science OR Electrical Engineering OR Equivalent Degree OR Equivalent Experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Software development expertise in C, C++, or an equivalent language
  • Scripting expertise in Matlab, Python or an equivalent language
  • Software debugging skills and ability to work with development tools
  • Expertise in media, color, or display technologies
  • Expertise in mathematical modeling and algorithm development
  • Being versatile and agile in developing new technologies
  • Interest working in a cross-functional and collaborative environment

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
