Were seeking a visionary and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to take a leading role in architecting and operationalizing the DevOps strategy for our business-critical API Gateway (Apigee). What Youll Do (Your Impact & Responsibilities):
  • Spearhead DevOps Evolution: Lead the engineering effort to re-imagine and modernize the DevOps tooling, processes, and operational mindset for our mission-critical Apigee API Gateway.
  • Champion Site Reliability (SRE): Design, build, evolve, and automate the production operations of our API Gateways, embedding SRE principles to ensure exceptional availability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Global Collaboration & On-Call: Actively participate in a global on-call rotation (currently 1 week every 10 weeks, in a "follow the sun" model), collaborating with a talented international team to ensure 24/7 operational excellence.
  • Drive Strategic Alignment: Work proactively across diverse organizational boundaries (engineering, product, security) to champion and implement the enterprise-wide DevOps API Gateway Strategy.
  • Build and Innovate: Develop robust application software and automation tooling leveraging cloud-native architectures across a full stack of technologies.
  • Embrace Quality-First Development: Utilize test-driven development (TDD) methodologies to deliver high-quality, resilient, and maintainable technical solutions.


Skills Required:

To thrive in this role, youll need a strong foundation in modern DevOps practices and cloud technologies:
  • DevOps & CI/CD Mastery (5+ Years):
  • Proven experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub, Tekton, Jenkins)
  • Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), and advanced deployment techniques (blue/green, canary releases).
  • Distributed Systems & Cloud Expertise (5+ Years)
  • Deep understanding of REST API design, web service implementation
  • experience with distributed architectures running on platforms like CloudRun, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Agile Champion: Demonstrable experience working within Agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like Jira, Rally, or similar.
  • Programming Prowess: Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, GoLang, or C++, enabling you to build effective automation and tooling.


Skills Preferred:

These qualifications will set you apart and allow you to hit the ground running:
  • API Development & Consumption Pro (5+ Years):
  • Hands-on experience developing and consuming RESTful web services, particularly using frameworks like Spring or Java EE.
  • Deep API Technology Knowledge
  • Expertise in API-related standards and tools such as JSON, XML, REST principles, Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, and API testing tools like Postman.
  • Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Experience
  • Significant cloud development and operational experience, especially within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
  • API Gateway Operations: Direct experience with API Gateway operations, troubleshooting, and management (Apigee experience is a strong plus).
  • SRE Practitioner: Proven experience implementing SRE principles, defining SLOs/SLIs, managing error budgets, and driving incident post-mortems.
  • Infrastructure Architecture Acumen: Solid infrastructure engineering or architecture experience, with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • GoLang Enthusiast: Specific experience and a passion for developing with the Go programming language.


Experience Required:
