ECS is seeking a Cybersecurity Business Analyst (Part-Time) to work in our Arlington, VA office.

ECS is seeking a part-time (up-to 20 hours/week) Cybersecurity Business Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Dashboard Ecosystem Program. The CDM Dashboard Program provides cybersecurity tools, integration services, and dashboards to participating agencies to support them in improving their respective security posture. CDM is a large, DHS-managed program which is comprised of several large contracts and various services. ECS is delivering the next generation CDM Dashboard. The CDM Dashboard increases visibility and insight in federal Agencies' cybersecurity posture by aggregating, displaying, and reporting data collected from tools and sensors deployed on agencies' networks which then report to a DHS-managed Federal Dashboard. The CDM Dashboard is comprised of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and open source products, software configuration packages and custom code which work together to operate as a single dashboard solution, tailored to meet DHS requirements. Core technologies include Elasticsearch and Kibana.

ECS is responsible for designing the complete CDM Dashboard solution, and for developing and delivering custom components that work with the prescribed, pre-installed COTS and open source components. ECS is also deploying, operating and maintaining the CDM Federal Dashboard, as well as a subset of Agency Dashboards hosted in a DHS-managed AWS environment under the Agency Dashboard as a Service (DBaaS) offering. CDM DEFEND System Integrators (SIs) are responsible for the installation, configuration, operations and maintenance of the CDM Agency Dashboard which operate in agency environments. Specific task areas within the CDM Dashboard contract include: Requirements Management, Design and Analysis, Development, Testing, Knowledge Management and Communications, Training, Helpdesk Support, Security Support, Deployment Services and Operations & Maintenance.

ECS seeking a Cybersecurity Business Analyst to assist with developing and delivering Cybersecurity products and services in support of our national security client. The ideal candidate will work with both internal and external stakeholders to help elicit, refine, document and validate and implement functional and non-functional requirements for cyber products, to help inform and advise risk reduction. The ideal candidate will also work well both independently, and as part of a broader team to help coordinate the delivery of cybersecurity consulting services, including coordination with Federal stakeholders to tailor cybersecurity products to satisfy their need for data-driven decision making tools.

Specific responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Business Analyst include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with production-systems data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support Cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to collect, analyze data, presents results and provides recommendations.
  • Assist with requirements elicitation, documentation and verification, to ensure alignment with end-user objectives.
  • Facilitate customer engagement, communications and delivery relative to the implementation of cybersecurity products and services.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to inform cyber risk posture; Perform data review and analysis to help inform and advice how existing data might be used to inform new use cases.
  • Assist in technical analysis of capabilities and functional requirements to derive measures of effectiveness and performance for service offerings.


  • Required Skills

    • Familiarity with Data Analytics tools, such as Elasticsearch Kibana.
    • ship and ability to acquire DHS Suitability .


    Desired Skills

    • Bachelors degree in relevant fields, such as Computer Science, Information Management, Cybersecurity, or Data Analytics. College seniors with 1-2 yrs of relevant experience are also eligible to apply.
    • Relevant cybersecurity certifications including CISSP, CISM, Security+, etc.
    • Familiarity with the Federal cyber security domain to include: governance and risk management, business continuity and disaster recovery, encryption, software development security, access control, network security / secure architecture, and security operations.
    • Familiarity with the Federal cybersecurity reporting and compliance requirements.
    • Experience in requirements management including elicitation, documentation, and traceability to solution implementation, design artifacts, documentation, and tests.
    • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel, both oral and written.
    • Experience in leading and facilitating requirements working sessions and clearly documenting the outcomes (e.g. requirements, action items, decisions made etc.).
