Position: Server Administrator / Consultant

Duration: 12+ months Contract

Location: Sacramento, CA

Number of Positions – 1

Required Qualifications –

The Server Consultant provides advanced server administration services on an intermittent basis, focusing on virtualization, server, and storage infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

·        Diagnosing and resolving complex Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) issues.

·        Diagnosing and resolving complex virtualization server and storage hardware/software issues, including performance monitoring and tuning.

·        Assisting with planning, implementation, and support of Windows desktop operating system upgrades.

·        Implementing, deploying, configuring, maintaining, and supporting virtualization server and storage infrastructure, including VMWare and Oracle Virtual Machine (VM).

·        Creating, updating, and maintaining PowerShell scripts as needed.

·        Performing other server and storage infrastructure-related tasks as required.

·        Providing knowledge transfer and training to State staff.

·       5 years’ experience aligning IT Systems with organizational business processes. At least 5 years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.

·        4 years of combined experience with virtualization software, such as VMWare and Oracle Virtual Machine (VM), including installation, configuration, maintenance, operations, and upgrade activities and resolution of complex issues.

·        Minimum of three years of combined experience supporting and troubleshooting complex Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) issues.

·        Three references are mandatory
