Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Modeler with strong expertise in GE AEMS, GE MMS, and enterprise data modeling within the electric utilities domain. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize data models that support mission-critical utility applications such as SCADA, billing, and customer information systems. This role requires hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL workflows, data manipulation, and high-availability operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain enterprise-level data models supporting GE AEMS and GE MMS platforms.
Develop scalable data structures for mission-critical utility systems including SCADA, billing, CIS, and EMS.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define data requirements and architecture.
Build, refine, and optimize logical, physical, and conceptual data models.
Support ETL processes, data mapping, data transformations, and integration workflows.
Analyze large datasets to ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
Troubleshoot data issues and improve model performance and maintainability.
Produce documentation, metadata, and data dictionaries.
Must Have Skills
GE AEMS (mandatory)
GE MMS (mandatory)
Strong Data Modeling (conceptual, logical, physical)
Utilities / Energy domain experience (SCADA, EMS, billing, CIS)
Data analysis and ETL experience
Experience working in mission-critical operational systems
Nice to Have Skills
SQL and RDBMS expertise
Experience with data pipelines
Knowledge of real-time utility applications
SCADA or EMS architecture understanding
Experience Required
5 to 15 years total experience
At least 10 years preferred in data modeling for utilities or energy systems
