Job Description:

Our client is seeking a skilled CAD Drafter (Computer-Aided Design Drafter) responsible for creating technical drawings and plans using CAD software. This role supports engineering and design teams by producing accurate and detailed documentation for construction and utility projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed drawings, plans, and layouts based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or designers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to understand project requirements.
  • Incorporate design changes and modifications into existing drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
  • Develop 2D and 3D models of structures, components, and systems.
  • Perform calculations and measurements to ensure drawing accuracy.
  • Organize and maintain drawing files and documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate with project team members to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Provide support during construction or manufacturing by clarifying drawings and offering additional information as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of drafting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Top Skills Required

  1. Drafting Experience
  • Prior experience in drafting is essential.
  • Utility industry experience is preferred.
  1. Technical Proficiency
  • Ability to update electric and gas facility maps using MicroStation, IrasB, and GIS (G/Tech).
  • Experience using Asset Suite 8 to research affected documents and associated engineering changes (ECs).
  • Skilled in verifying as-built information to ensure accuracy and integrity of prints.
  1. Documentation Management
  • Responsible for maintaining all CAD drawings in accordance with the company's electric construction standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
