Senior Systems Development Engineer - IAM (L5/L6)


? Location: Austin, TX
? Level: Mid-to-Senior (L5/L6)


We're looking for a skilled Systems Development Engineer to help build and maintain secure, scalable identity infrastructure. In this role, you'll work on authentication systems, access controls, and cloud-based IAM solutions that support enterprise-wide security and compliance.




? What You'll Do



  • Design and implement IAM solutions and workflows

  • Build and maintain authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle systems

  • Automate infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments

  • Monitor system performance and participate in incident response

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate IAM across platforms




? Security & Compliance



  • Implement access controls, SSO, MFA, and certificate management

  • Maintain security monitoring and logging systems

  • Support compliance with frameworks like SOX, HIPAA, and PCI

  • Contribute to security assessments and remediation efforts




?? Tech Stack



  • Languages: Python, Java, Go, PowerShell

  • IAM Tools: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, Active Directory, PKI

  • Infrastructure: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Automation: Terraform, CloudFormation, Git, CI/CD tools

  • Security: Vulnerability scanners, audit logging, Zero Trust models




? What You Bring



  • 5+ years in systems development or engineering

  • 3+ years of hands-on IAM experience

  • Strong understanding of identity protocols and cloud IAM services

  • Experience with infrastructure automation and monitoring tools

  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills




? Bonus Points



  • Experience with Kubernetes or Privileged Access Management (PAM)

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures

  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS Security Specialty)

  • Mentorship experience and knowledge sharing
