Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of professional Project/Program Management experience.
  • 4 years of experience managing full lifecycle implementation projects from requirements through delivery.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Project and Visio.
  • Proven experience developing detailed project plans including scope, requirements, and controls.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within team environments.
  • Experience working with or for government agencies.
  • Experience in data governance principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) technologies.
  • Understanding of transportation asset management concepts.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships and align stakeholder goals with project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of project lifecycles, including planning, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
  • Organize, manage, and direct project team tasks, ensuring application of PMO standards, tools, and methodologies.
  • Supervise and coordinate project stakeholders, team communications, and deliverables.
  • Manage project risks, issues, scope changes, and ensure proactive resolution of conflicts.
  • Oversee and maintain project schedules and budgets, adjusting estimates and timelines as needed.
  • Ensure timely project delivery through ongoing monitoring of milestones, adherence to scope, and performance tracking.
  • Prepare and present proposals and status reports to stakeholders, addressing risks and improvement measures.
  • Lead scheduling and quality assurance activities such as reviews and inspections.
  • Balance team workload and plan orientation or training as needed for team development.
  • Communicate effectively across internal teams, customers, and external suppliers to drive outcomes.
  • Support the final evaluation of programs and lead stakeholder approval processes.

Position Overview

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for leading and delivering strategic projects within The Ohio Department of Transportation s Office of Data Governance. This role will support initiatives involving Data Governance, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Transportation Asset Management. The ideal candidate will apply industry best practices, lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and ensure the successful execution of full project lifecycles from initiation through closeout while aligning outcomes with organizational goals and PMO standards.
