AR/VR Software Development Engineer

Description APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and develop AR/VR system frameworks and kernel drivers in VisionOS for the Apple VisionPro. Design & develop performance and power optimizations across various sub systems in VisionOS. Design and implement optimizations in software and silicon to optimize the latency and jitter of sensor frame delivery to clients in VisionOS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design new framework APIs and optimize existing APIs. Work on the bring-up and verification of new hardware platforms. Build POC (Proof-of-Concept) to demonstrate feasibility of new features that improve system performance.. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Experience and/or education must include each of the following:
• Utilize C for developing system software frameworks
• Use knowledge of machine-level code (assembly language) to optimize system performance.
• Using Debugger (like GDB) to observe program state and find bugs in software.
• Optimize system performance by splitting program into independent tasks and spread the work over threads executing in parallel on multiple CPU cores.
• Use fundamentals of parallel computer architecture to design & develop efficient software.
• Apply Real-Time principles that are used to drive critical embedded systems, to design efficient and robust low-level system frameworks.
