Job Description
Role : Reliability Engineer
Location : Swiftwater, PA
They might hire after the year contract.
Client is seeking a Reliability Engineer for a contract job with a client in Swiftwater, PA. We're supporting a leading biotech manufacturer for two contract openings for Reliability Engineers. These roles focus heavily on packaging and filling operations, including syringe lines, and play a critical part in driving plant-wide reliability and continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure overall plant reliability across equipment, utilities, and facilities
- Monitor maintenance and reliability (M&R) performance, value, and cost-effectiveness
- Continuously optimize maintenance strategies
- Implement and advance reliability technologies (PdM, data analytics, digital work orders)
- Optimize spare parts inventory through criticality assessment, stocking strategy, and failure evaluation
Decision-Making Scope:
- Accountable for root cause analysis and corrective actions following equipment breakdowns
- Advises on reliability strategy, including FMEAs, RCAs, and CAPAs
- Identifies and prioritizes reliability engineering (RE) and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives
- Provides input on reliability considerations for capital and improvement projects
Key Metrics & Performance Indicators:
- Equipment and facility uptime and financial impact
- MTBF, bad actor identification, and out-of-tolerance (OOT) trends
- Rate of deviations and discards tied to reliability failures
- Reduction of reactive/emergency corrective work
- Spare parts inventory health and utilization metrics
Preferred Background:
- Associate's degree or higher, or equivalent technical experience
- Training or certification in maintenance or reliability engineering
- Strong understanding of predictive maintenance technologies
- Familiarity with RE tools like FMEA, RCA, and PM optimization
Tools & Systems You'll Use:
- Data analytics: SEEK
- ERP/CMMS: S4 Hana, SAP
- Calibration: ProCal (shifting toward SAP)
- Automation: Allen Bradley (primarily), some Siemens
- Filling systems: Experience with Optima, Inova, and similar equipment is highly valued
Other Details:
- Biotech or regulated industry experience required
- Mostly onsite: 4 5 days/week
- Business casual environment
