Network Monitoring Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 6+ months

Summary:

Experienced Systems Engineer within the Network Operations Team, with a strong focus on application and infrastructure monitoring, as well as expertise in network and voice technologies. Actively involved in engineering and operational aspects of enterprise monitoring solutions, with a proven track record in time-bound, cross-functional projects, including return-to-office initiatives and disaster recovery planning.

Key Responsibilities & Projects:

Monitoring Solutions:

Managing end-to-end implementation and optimization of ThousandEyes (Endpoint Agent & Point Agent) and SolarWinds for proactive application and network monitoring.

Developing and tuning alert policies, thresholds, and in-office population monitoring for increased visibility into user experience.

Running pilot programs for Thousand Eyes deployment by September, followed by evaluations and retests for scale deployment.

Network & Voice Expertise:

Working across network and voice domains to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.

Supporting hybrid infrastructure with a focus on redundancy, uptime, and real-time issue detection.

Operational Engineering:

Bridging operations and engineering by setting up monitoring frameworks, refining policy configurations, and improving alerting mechanisms.

Engaging in disaster recovery support, emphasizing failover testing, redundancy validation, and operational continuity.

Project Work:

Contributing to strategic projects like the Return to Office initiative, ensuring robust network and application performance for on-site employees.

Certifications:

Any of the below 2 certifications Preferred.

CCNA, CCNP, Cisco Certified DevNet Associate, Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate,

Cisco Certified Specialist in Enterprise Network Core Technologies.
