We re expanding our sales team and seeking driven, state- and industry-focused Business Development Representatives to help fuel our growth in the insurance industry. This role is ideal for experienced SDRs/BDRs who understand the insurance technology landscape and can effectively build and convert pipelines through outbound strategies.
You ll be working closely with marketing and solution teams to deliver compelling value propositions to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Outreach:
Target and engage insurance sector clients through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and networking.
Use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo to build qualified lead lists.
Lead Qualification:
Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on alignment with company offerings.
Prioritize leads with the highest conversion and revenue potential.
SDR-Focused Sales Execution:
Drive top-of-the-funnel activity: booking discovery calls and setting qualified meetings.
Work closely with account executives to hand off and support opportunities through the sales cycle.
Customize messaging for specific industry pain points in insurance.
Event Engagement:
Attend and represent the company at regional and national trade shows and events in insurance/InsurTech.
Build relationships with key stakeholders and maintain follow-ups post-events.
Reporting & CRM Management:
Track outreach and performance via CRM (preferably MS Dynamics).
Maintain pipeline hygiene and report metrics weekly.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Location: Based in Chicago or Florida (open to travel and NY HQ visits quarterly)
Industry Background: Proven success selling to insurance stakeholders Carriers, MGAs, ISO.
Role Experience: 2 3+ years as a BDR or SDR in B2B software/services, ideally within digital transformation.
Preferred Sector Knowledge:
Solid understanding of insurance tech, ideally with contacts in CTO/CIO circles.
Knowledge of banking is a bonus.
Technical Acumen:
Understanding of how software solutions solve business problems.
SaaS experience is a plus (not mandatory).
Not Preferred: Candidates with a primary focus on intranet, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or CFO/HR tech sales.
