Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Network Firewall Migration Consultant to join our team on a 2-month contract basis. This remote opportunity involves planning and executing a seamless migration of firewall infrastructure while ensuring optimal network security and performance. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in SonicWall NSA5600, Fortinet firewalls, and advanced network architecture, coupled with a strong ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement a comprehensive strategy for migrating legacy firewalls to a modernized setup, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Deploy, configure, and optimize SonicWall NSA5600 and Fortinet firewalls to meet stringent security and performance objectives.
Assess the current network architecture, propose enhancements, and integrate new firewalls into the existing infrastructure.
Conduct rigorous testing of firewall configurations, rules, and policies to ensure security, compliance, and functionality.
Document the entire migration process, including configurations and network diagrams, and provide knowledge transfer to the internal IT team.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered during the migration to maintain high availability and security.
Ensure all network configurations align with industry standards and organizational security policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address specific network security needs and objectives.
Provide ongoing support and expertise to ensure the smooth operation of network services post-migration.
Requirements
Extensive experience with SonicWall NSA5600 and Fortinet firewalls, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of network architecture concepts such as VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
Proven track record of successfully leading firewall migration projects in enterprise environments.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on firewall deployments and migrations.
Relevant certifications such as SonicWall Network Security Administrator or Fortinet certifications are highly preferred.
Proficiency in using network monitoring tools like Wireshark or SolarWinds.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with remote teams.
