Cinema and Gallery AV Technical Lead

Work Schedule:
- Full Time Monday-Friday, 9/80 schedule
Description:
Work location: This role is semi-hybrid with the candidate spending on average 75% of their time in-office and 25% of their time working from home.
The days the candidate will need to be onsite will be determined by the Cinema schedule, ongoing technical responsibilities, and technical projects.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented AV Technical Lead to oversee all technical operations for our Cinema and Gallery spaces. This hands-on role is responsible for managing advanced A/V and projection systems, leading a team of contract projectionists and engineers, and ensuring the seamless execution of film screenings, presentations, demos, and live events.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in cinema projection, live sound, and event A/V, and excels in fast-paced, high-profile environments. Exceptional organizational, technical, and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage technical infrastructure, systems, and workflows for Cinema and Gallery operations.
- Operate and oversee projection, audio, and lighting systems for all screenings, demos, and events.
- Schedule, manage, and support a team of contract projectionists and audio engineers.
- Manage and distribute content across multiple projection systems and media servers.
- Ensure accurate signal routing and system integration (digital/analog, patch bays, and networked systems).
- Set up and operate professional-grade AV equipment, including audio consoles, wireless mics, KVM systems, and lighting control.
- Collaborate with external A/V production vendors for large-scale events.
- Act as the primary technical contact for events from planning to execution supporting internal teams, executives, and vendors.
- Develop documentation for AV workflows, troubleshooting guides, and event setups.
- Maintain organized and functional control rooms, projection booths, and AV storage areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Cinema, Broadcast, or Corporate AV environments.
- Expertise in cinema projection and high-end A/V technology.
- Deep understanding of audio, video, and lighting signal flow and event production workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure.
- Experience leading and scheduling contract technical staff.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Highly organized with strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in both Mac and Windows environments; able to support presentation software like PowerPoint.
- Bachelor s degree in a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Dante Controller, ProTools, and Audio Architect.
- Experience with Crestron systems and KVM switchers.
- Skilled in digital asset management and content organization.
- Confident working with all levels of corporate leadership and executive teams.
