Role: Agile Scrum Master Consultant II

Duration: 6 months

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking an Agile Scrum Master Consultant II to lead and support multiple Agile Scrum teams working on complex initiatives. This role involves guiding teams that include both internal and external (onshore and offshore) resources in the delivery of IT and business solutions. The Scrum Master will serve as a coach, facilitator, and servant-leader, driving Agile practices and ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support multiple Agile Scrum teams across IT and business initiatives.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and agile practices including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile values and principles, fostering a culture of openness, courage, commitment, focus, and respect.
  • Identify and resolve delivery impediments, escalating when needed to senior leadership.
  • Monitor team health, manage risks/issues, and implement continuous improvement practices.
  • Mentor junior Scrum Masters and contribute to organizational Agile maturity.
  • Support Product Owners in backlog management, prioritization, and maintaining transparency of delivery progress.
  • Promote Agile best practices, including DevOps, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build strong, collaborative team environments with high morale and cohesion.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
  • Strong servant-leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Solid background in software development delivery using Agile practices.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices (automation, CI/CD).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise-level IT initiatives.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience in enterprise IT environments.
  • Prior project management experience is a plus.
  • Additional Agile certifications are a plus.
