Job Description

As an Endpoint Engineering Specialist, you will be instrumental in monitoring and supporting the highly critical and highly available health system infrastructure. Your focus will be on endpoint engineering, end-user computing, and enhancing the end-user experience, with an emphasis on Windows endpoint management and Microsoft Intune. You will collaborate with senior engineering staff, network/data center operations, project management, and service desk teams to ensure seamless operational support of assigned systems within established timelines.

Job Responsibility

  • Develops and maintains infrastructure within the area of expertise.
  • Develops, recommends, implements, and evaluates approved policies and procedures (and updates) relating to the supported infrastructure.
  • Coordinates and provides technical assistance, and software upgrades for supported infrastructure.
  • Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

Highly Preferred:

  • Endpoint Infrastructure Development: Develops and maintains endpoint infrastructure, particularly focusing on Windows endpoint management and optimization using Microsoft Intune.
  • Policy and Procedure Implementation: Develops, recommends, implements, and evaluates approved policies and procedures related to endpoint management and end-user computing to ensure high availability and enhanced user experience.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Coordinates and provides technical assistance, software updates, security patches, and troubleshooting for Windows endpoints, utilizing Microsoft Intune for streamlined operations.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Works closely with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and manage endpoint solutions that enhance productivity and integrate advanced engineering concepts using industry-standard tools.
  • User Experience Enhancement: Innovates and implements solutions to improve end-user computing experiences, leveraging emerging technologies and engineering best practices specific to Windows environments.
  • Autonomous Problem-Solving: Operates under general guidance, demonstrating autonomy in problem-solving and decision making, and determining independent courses of action.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).


  • Solid experience with macOS administration and management.


  • Expertise with at least one major Endpoint Management/MDM platform (e.g., Microsoft Intune/MEM, SCCM/ConfigMgr, Jamf Pro).


  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, VB) for automation.


  • Familiarity with endpoint security principles and tools (EDR, anti-malware, encryption).


  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) as they relate to endpoints.


  • Experience with identity and access management solutions (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Active Directory).


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.


  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
