Media Streaming Manager
  • Contract: 6 months
  • Hybrid: New York, NY 10036
  • Pay Range: $80 - $87 per hour
Department Overview:
The Media Experience team is responsible for the entire audio and video encoding supply chain from content acquisition to delivery, consisting of an agile and responsive team of engineers and operators that perform the daily processes and procedures of our live and on-demand video streaming products and monitor the health and quality of that media once it is available to our customers. The department's responsibilities provide round-the-clock support for these products, ensuring proper functionality across all platforms and front-end playback scenarios.

The Media Streaming Engineer is a contractor position within Media Engineering responsible for working with the varying groups within Media Experience, coordinating content remediation workflows, leading internal scrum ceremonies, managing hardware shipments and advising on best practices to ensure that our team works together best to support the health of our live and on demand media.

Successful candidates must be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and able to autonomously work on concurrent implementations across matrixed teams inside multiple departments. They must be capable of clearly communicating schedules, risks, issues, and processes to a variety of business, creative, and technical audiences. They must be able to partner with project managers, product stakeholders and technical leads outside their area to coordinate work, deliverables, and schedules.

Job Summary:
  • Administer content remediation workflows for our on-demand products
  • Lead agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint plannings, backlog refinements, retrospectives, and demos for 2-3 teams concurrently.
  • Coach teams on agile efficiency, support their self-organization and agile methodology knowledge growth.
  • Use data-driven approach, tools and techniques (i.e. Jira, Google sheets, Airtable) to maintain metrics that provide visibility for the team and use those metrics to identify team needs.
  • Provide support using a servant-leadership style, facilitate discussions and decision making in meetings, and resolve team impediments.
  • Coordinate hardware deliveries for our encoding hardware
  • Communicate delivery times and scope as it pertains to content delivery schedules
  • Identify and manage issues and risks and drive decision making.
Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Technical Project Manager role or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of Jira/Confluence supporting agile methodologies.
  • Strong aptitude to learn new technical concepts.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Anticipate working with teams on East or West Coast hours, with flexibility to work outside of regular office hours to accommodate important meetings in different time zones.
  • Comfortable acting as a technical resource to other departments to address and resolve problems
  • Experience with media (audio or video) a plus
  • Bachelors or Equivalent Experience required
