Job Description Summary:
As a Senior Software Quality Engineer, tasks involve review of SW Release Packages, Software Test Reports, Software test artifacts, and participation in Software Peer Reviews, Change Control Boards, Test Witnessing as well as lifecycle management including release and delivery processes.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues.
Leads and identifies improvements of manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products.
Ensures products meet the organizations and customers quality and product integrity requirements.
Provides analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
Leads a cross function team in the determination of root cause of failures. Identifies when failure analysis is necessary, along with providing recommendations of the corrective measures.
Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction
Actively mentor less experienced engineers
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
Requires a bachelor of Science degree an Engineering discipline.

Experience
Requires 5-7 years experience in quality engineering or other engineering role.

Additional Job Description:
  • Compliance - Ensure digital products adhere to contractual and corporate requirements. Review and approve inputs and outputs to/from Software, Systems, and Integration & Test organizations.
  • Processes - Leverage modern experiences with software development and quality best practices.
  • Improvement - Perform evaluations and risk assessments across lifecycle. Facilitate root cause and continuous improvement with corrective actions.
  • Products - Ensure integrity of the technical data package. Identify, collect, and measure software quality attributes, metrics, and data. Monitor and participate in test and release.
  • Teamwork - Interact with customers, product development, and test personnel. Provide guidance to senior managers, team members, and group peers.

Required:
  • You must have two years or more working experience in a Quality or Technical role and applying advanced concepts across at least THREE of the following.
    • Compliance Evaluation: validation, verification, auditing, action items.
    • Requirements Verification: software/systems specifications, functionality, performance, release plans, statement of work, contracts.
    • Software Processes: requirements decomposition, code reviews, functions / features, building / configuration management, integration.
    • Maintenance Processes: patches, upgrades, installation, backups, recovery, synchronization.
    • Defect Management: dispositioning, prioritization, resolution, implementation.
    • Integration Support: classified labs, systems, software, hardware, connectivity, tools, equipment.
    • Test Witnessing: test plans, test procedures, use cases, scenarios, requirements traceability, test reports, test sites.
    • Records Management: software executables, release notes, security bulletins, training manuals, user guides, customer deliverables.
    • Release Management: checklists, labels, versions, licenses, repositories.
    • Technology Knowledge: software applications, servers / appliances, virtual machines, networks, storage.
    • Analysis: Experience with Root Cause identification of process issues, or, Debugging of software/system errors (bugs, failures, triage), and Corrective Action.
    • Metrics: Experience with identification, development, monitoring, reporting, measurement, dashboards.
    • PowerPoint: Experience creating and submitting presentations for/to Senior Management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Analysis: Experience with Root Cause identification of process issues, or, Debugging of software/system errors (bugs, failures, triage), and Corrective Action.
  • Metrics: Experience with identification, development, monitoring, reporting, measurement, dashboards.
  • PowerPoint: Experience creating and submitting presentations for/to Senior Management.
  • Standards: Experience with Quality concepts via ISO9001, AS9100, AS9115.
  • Policies: Experience with a Quality Management System (QMS) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Development: Experience with Integrated Development Environment (IDE) applications, modeling, or databases (Visual Studio, DOORS, Eclipse).
  • Agile: Experience in related processes (SCRUM teams, sprints / increments, stories / points, backlog / burndown, defect), or Rapid Application Development, with continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).
  • Dev/Sec/Ops: Experience with Toolchains (Jira, Confluence, GitHub).Methodologies: Experience in Continuous Improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma, CORE).
