A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Java backend Developer.

Position type: Fulltime Contract

Duration: 6 months

Location: Brooklyn Park Minnesota 55445 Hybrid onsite 1 day a week or as needed)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Developer with strong experience in Java, Kafka, Postgres, and React to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in modernizing our technology stack, enhancing inventory event consumption, and supporting scalable backend services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Groovy, and Kotlin.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines and real time event processing using Apache Kafka.
  • Work with Postgres and Cassandra for data storage and caching solutions.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs with React based user interfaces.
  • Participate in the migration from legacy systems to modern microservices architecture.
  • Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of backend systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps.

Must-have Skills:

  • Strong experience in Java backend development.
  • Proficiency in Groovy and/or Kotlin.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event driven architecture.
  • Solid understanding of Postgres and Cassandra databases.
  • Experience with Spring Boot framework.
  • Familiarity with React for frontend integration.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in migrating legacy systems to modern tech stacks.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Team Focus:

  • The team is responsible for consuming inventory events and implementing enhancements.
  • Focused on modernizing the platform by moving away from outdated technologies.
  • Support is needed for both ongoing development and system transformation initiatives.

Pay Range*: $65- $70/per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
