Job Details
Job Title: Network Test and Validation Engineer
Location: Fremont, CA
Duration: 6+ Months contract
Job Description:
- Perform network audits to evaluate: Capacity usage (BW, space, power, etc) and unused devices.
- Analyze for network reports and review network trends and suggest improvements.
- Deploy agents to monitor networks by using Prod tools and enriching existing data.
- Deploy dashboards to visualize KPIs from audits.
- Support different tasks (internal ticketing system) coming from USB tethering and Remote Rendering.
- Support PoC to deploy new systems, workflows, or testing alternatives.
- Support implementation of NetGram workflows and automation.
- Support integration activities with other internal tools and systems (i.e test automation framework, AI/Client pipeline).
- Drive Software release management, Test & Validation: including Release life cycle management:
- Wired and Wireless nodes release selection
- Use Case definition
- Reports
- Define Upgrades plan
- Track new features on Cisco Roadmap
- Track security vulnerabilities and fixes on the network
- Coordinate Deployment in the validation network (ie. Validation Chambers and WLCs) and deployment in the fleet.
Qualifications:
- Subject matter expertise in IP Networking/Routing & Switching (TCP/IP, IPv4/v6, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and/or MPLS).
- Network certifications, such as CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, RHCSA, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with 100G/ 400G Ethernet and CWDM, DWDM, and optical transport network technologies. Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP).
- Analyzing tactical situations, troubleshooting, root-causing systems and tools, and problem-solving via tasks or larger cross-functional projects.
- Release life cycle management experience with software development and CI/CD.
- Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Work experience in designing, deploying, and operating large-scale networks.
- Experience in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP) and Optical Transport Networks (OTN).
- Familiarity with the Linux based systems and experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl)
