Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Business Architect to join our client. This critical role is responsible for developing and maintaining the business architecture blueprint for the organization, with a specific focus on insurance lines of business such as Life and Annuity.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a deep understanding of the insurance industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the organization s business architecture blueprint, covering both current and future state views.
- Conduct current state capability assessments and create detailed capability maps.
- Perform value stream mapping to identify optimization opportunities and process improvements.
- Conduct fit-gap analyses to identify areas where current capabilities fall short of future needs.
- Define future-state Level 1 and Level 2 business capabilities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop a capability roadmap with clear sequencing of deliverables.
- Evaluate off-the-shelf software solutions to assess business and architectural fit.
- Develop and maintain business context views, business context diagrams, and related documentation.
- Conduct gap analyses of business context to identify improvement opportunities.
- Create future-state capability roadmaps for business context alignment.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and senior leadership to ensure alignment and buy-in for the business architecture vision.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in business architecture and insurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business architecture, with strong expertise in the insurance industry.
- Specific experience in Life and Annuity lines of business is required.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain business architecture blueprints, capability maps, and perform fit-gap analysis.
- Strong understanding of business capability modeling, value stream mapping, and roadmap development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
