Baer is looking for an SAP Budget-to-Report Configuration Consultant for a 12+ month Federal remote project.

Project Overview:
Our client is supporting the modernization of critical financial and procurement systems for a major branch of the Department of Defense (DoD), transitioning from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. The transformation follows a fit-to-standard approach to minimize customization and fully leverage S/4HANA capabilities.

Description:
We are seeking an experienced SAP B2R Consultant with deep configuration knowledge across core financial modules and enterprise structures. This hands-on consultant will play a critical role in configuring and aligning the end-to-end B2R process with S/4HANA standards in support of the client's transformation initiative.

Responsibilities include:

• Configuring SAP S/4HANA components across core B2R modules including Finance (FI), Funds Management (FM), and Controlling (CO), ensuring alignment with client requirements and S/4HANA standards.
• Analyzing current B2R business processes and mapping them to standard S/4HANA functionality; identifying gaps and advising on fit-to-standard adoption versus necessary enhancements.
• Designing and configuring enterprise structure elements (e.g., company codes, controlling areas, business areas, functional areas, fund centers) that support financial and budgetary reporting requirements.
• Establishing integration between financial modules and upstream/downstream components such as Procurement (MM) and Project Systems (PS), with attention to data flow and compliance.
• Supporting master data governance activities including the design and validation of financial master data elements (e.g., cost centers, GL accounts, funds, fund types).
• Supporting functional design for budget structures, posting controls, and derivation rules in line with federal budgeting practices.
• Assisting with the development of standard operating procedures and process documentation for B2R functions.
• Engaging in hands-on prototyping and testing to validate system configurations and ensure compliance with audit, financial, and operational requirements.
• Collaborating with functional leads and stakeholders to define reporting needs, budget control mechanisms, and performance metrics tied to B2R processes.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of hands-on experience configuring SAP B2R components (FI, FM, CO) in ECC and S/4HANA environments.
• Deep knowledge of S/4HANA B2R capabilities, preferably within the federal government or A&D sectors.
• Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Public Sector, or government regulated industry experience (i.e.: Aerospace & Defense) experience required. Army or Navy experience is preferred.
• Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required. (Clearance sponsorship for s with relevant experience may be available on a case by case basis.)
