CANDIDATES MUST LIVE IN WISCONSIN OR RELOCATE TO WISCONSIN BEFORE STARTING

Pay: $33 36/hr | Long-Term Contract

About the Role:
Hiring for three Telecommunications Technician III consultants to support statewide radio communications. You ll work hands-on with radio systems that serve State Parks, Forests, Conservation, and Public Safety including wildfire suppression and emergency response. This is an onsite position; candidates must live in Wisconsin or relocate before starting.

Top Required Skills (2+ years):

  • Conventional VHF radio system operability

  • Technical competency with electronic equipment

  • Vehicle & office electronics installation

  • Strong communication; able to work independently or on a team

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Radio test equipment (service monitors, antenna analyzers, etc.)

  • Radio programming proficiency

  • Cabling / network-attached equipment

  • Troubleshooting radio equipment

What You ll Do:

  • Install, configure, and maintain handheld, mobile, base station, and repeater radio systems

  • Support and program ~2000 radios across 120+ sites and 150 repeaters

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades (P25 & analog systems)

  • Install mobile and office radios; assist with tower and network equipment

  • Provide training, consultation, and technical support to DNR staff statewide
