SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) Lead

Location: Needs to be local to Atlanta, Hybrid schedule weekly

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) Lead to drive the successful implementation and functional delivery of SAP TM across our enterprise. This leadership role will serve as the primary point of contact for all functional aspects of the SAP TM project, collaborating with key business stakeholders, internal technical teams, and external implementation partners.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in SAP TM configuration, customization, and integration, with a demonstrated ability to deliver full-cycle implementations in complex, global environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end functional implementation of SAP TM from planning through go-live and stabilization.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics stakeholders to gather, define, and validate functional requirements.
  • Act as a bridge between business units and technical teams to ensure clear and aligned solution design.
  • Oversee partner-led technical configurations and ensure they support the intended business processes.
  • Configure SAP TM modules including freight order management, carrier selection, charge management, and transportation planning.
  • Support test strategy and execution across functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Drive cutover activities, end-user training, and post-go-live support and issue resolution.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements leveraging SAP TM capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates to project leadership.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of SAP experience, including a minimum of 4 years focused on SAP TM.
  • Proven leadership in full lifecycle SAP TM implementations, preferably in multi-site or global settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP TM functionalities: Order Management, Freight Unit Building, Planning & Execution, and Charge Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, gather business requirements, and align system solutions.
  • Hands-on expertise in SAP TM configuration and customization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and implementation partners.
  • SAP TM certification or related SAP credentials preferred.
  • Background in transportation/logistics operations or supply chain optimization.
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA and integration with SAP modules such as EWM, SD, or MM.
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
