Job Details

Quality Assurance Lead

  • Contract: 12-24 + months
  • Hybrid 2 days/week in the office and 3 days Remote
  • Location: Near Madison, WI

QA Lead supporting mix of .NET and ERP systems with limited test automation. Lead will collaborate closely with the QA leadership team to align quality efforts and implement modern QA processes, driving improvements across software and delivery practices. Retail domain experience is mandatory. i.e. familiarity with basic retail operations, item management, product catalogs, inventory, and order flows.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead QA efforts across a portfolio of retail systems, primarily custom-built .NET applications with legacy design frameworks and minimal automated testing. Prior leading or testing experience in .Net environment (frontend and backend) will be helpful. QA Lead is not expected to code in .NET
  • Technical and hands-on role, expected to work within a Scrum methodology and actively contribute to all sprint ceremonies and activities, ensuring that QA is integrated from the start of each story.
  • Provide mentorship and hands-on support to the existing delivery team, guiding them on Quality best practices, troubleshooting complex defects, and performing validation activities.
  • Lead and refine QA processes and test strategies, ensuring quality execution across ongoing projects and KTLO activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align QA with ERP quality practices, evaluate process improvements, and modernize QA in a legacy system environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree and minimum 10 years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in a QA Lead role.

Required Skills:

  • Deep understanding of QA fundamentals and the ability to navigate current test structures and identify and activate improvements.
  • Retail Domain experience.
  • Strong technical acumen in:- .NET frameworks Testing and custom MS application stacks environment experience ( or must be able to pick up with little or no guidance), SQL Server querying and data analysis.
  • Experience testing in any ERP ( preferably Dynamics 365 Finance / retail / PIM/OM/ Demand planning or any other ERP with similar modules as they will be involved in conversations with the ERP team and common QA processes.
  • Hands-on experience working in Scrum or hybrid Agile environments, including collaboration with cross-functional teams and participation in sprint ceremonies.
  • Excellent communication skills able to collaborate with developers, BAs, business users, and external vendors, providing guidance and support even in a lean IT environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Emerging platforms like Boomi, Snowflake and Azure Data Factory (ADF) (or the aptitude to quickly learn).

Pay range and compensation package

The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($70.00-80.00), during the contract period. Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
