Azure Platform Engineer
We are seeking a talented Azure Platform Engineer for a premier client in Plano, Texas. The Engineer will be responsible for building and managing secure, scalable, and adaptive cloud platforms that drive our enterprise data strategy. As an Azure Platform Engineer, you will lead the charge in building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that powers enterprise-grade Data & Analytics initiatives. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available, cost-efficient, and secure cloud solutions that support real-time analytics and scalable data services.

We are seeking a talented Azure Platform Engineer for a premier client in Plano, Texas. The Engineer will be responsible for building and managing secure, scalable, and adaptive cloud platforms that drive our enterprise data strategy. As an Azure Platform Engineer, you will lead the charge in building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that powers enterprise-grade Data & Analytics initiatives. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available, cost-efficient, and secure cloud solutions that support real-time analytics and scalable data services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and manage Azure infrastructure including Data Factory, Virtual Networks, Key Vaults, Virtual Machines, and Storage Accounts.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, Terraform, and PowerShell to automate resource provisioning.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub for continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
- Design and support scalable data platforms, including Azure Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Synapse.
- Optimize infrastructure for performance and cost using monitoring, alerting, and auto-scaling strategies.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, and security-related issues in cloud environments.
- Drive SRE principles for reliability, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Provide technical guidance and participate in on-call rotation for production incidents and escalations.
- Collaborate with security and networking teams to enforce cloud-native and zero-trust security models.
- Prepare infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Promote a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- 7+ years in cloud platform engineering in an enterprise environment.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services, including core compute, networking, storage, and identity components.
- DevOps expertise (7+ years) with experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, PowerShell, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Bicep and/or Terraform.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise services.
- Strong problem-solving skills, security-first mindset, and cloud-native architecture experience.
- Ability to influence team culture, foster collaboration, and communicate complex solutions clearly across technical and non-technical teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Certifications: Azure Administrator, Azure Solution Architect, Databricks Platform Administrator, or Snowflake SnowPro.
- Experience with:
- Azure components such as Synapse, CosmosDB, Event Hubs, Functions, Batch, Managed Identity, and Log Analytics.
- Enterprise identity services like Active Directory, Service Principals, and Key Vault.
- Windows/Linux server administration.
- Azure cost management, monitoring, and forecasting.
