Job Description
- We are seeking a versatile and experienced Business Analyst to support an enterprise-wide Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) transformation program spanning Pharmaceutical Sciences and R&D Biologydomains.
- This position will play a key role in the implementation of Dotmatics ELN, Luma Lab Connect IDC, and Global Sample Management capabilities.
- The ideal candidate will bring deep domain knowledge across small molecule development, biology, and preclinical research workflows, and will be skilled in translating complex scientific needs into structured, Agile-ready requirements.
- This hybrid role will require close collaboration with scientists, informatics teams, and implementation partners to ensure ELN templates and workflows effectively support scientific, regulatory, and data integrity goals.
- Occasional on-site presence in Boston (monthly or quarterly) may be required for major releases or workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders across Process Chemistry, Formulations, Analytical Development, Biology, and Preclinical Research teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
- Engage with scientists (Research Biology, In Vitro & In Vivo Biology, Pharmacology) to map current workflows, identify gaps, and optimize ELN usage.
- Translate scientific processes into structured Agile user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scripts.
- Collaborate with Dotmatics ELN implementation teams, ontology experts, and data integration groups to deliver and refine ELN solutions.
- Support configuration and testing of ELN templates, ensuring alignment with MedCheck workflows, global sample tracking, and data compliance standards.
- Prioritize and triage feedback to enhance system usability and scientific relevance.
- Identify project risks, scope changes, or technical blockers, and escalate them as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Life Sciences, Computational Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Scientist in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated experience with Dotmatics ELN implementation, enhancement, or migration (required).
- Strong domain expertise in one or more of the following: Process Chemistry, Formulation Development, Analytical Development, MedCheck, Biology, and Preclinical Research.
- Experience working in Agiledevelopment environments using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and SmartSheets.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with data integrity standards, scientific ontologies, and regulatory documentation practices.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI, and collaboration tools.
