Role: Tier 3 Wireless Operations SATCOM Engineer
Location: 100% onsite in Herndon, VA, M-F (Core Hours)
Duration: 6 to 12 Months
Clearance: Must be able to obtain FAA Public Trust
Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tier 3 Wireless and Satellite Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization of wireless and satellite network operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in wireless communications and satellite technologies, with a strong focus on ensuring network reliability, performance, and seamless service delivery.
The Tier 3 Wireless Operations SATCOM Engineer Consulting will support the following:
- Serve as the highest level of technical escalation (Tier 3) for complex wireless and satellite network issues impacting service quality and customer experience.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of wireless and satellite network faults, outages, and performance degradations.
- Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams to provide guidance, knowledge transfer, and technical mentorship.
- Monitor and analyze network performance metrics and logs using specialized tools to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Work closely with network engineering, field operations, and vendor teams to coordinate and implement network upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Provide expert input for network design improvements, capacity planning, and technology upgrades.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation on troubleshooting procedures, network configurations, and best operational practices.
- Support incident management processes and participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 network availability.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training materials for operations teams.
- Stay current with emerging wireless and satellite technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
