Ab Initio Developer
Job Title: Ab Initio Developer

Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Ab Initio Developer to design, develop, and implement ETL solutions. The candidate will be responsible for building robust data processing graphs, integrating data from various sources, and ensuring the performance and reliability of our data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test ETL processes using the Ab Initio tool suite (Graphs, Plans, PSETs, etc.).
- Build and maintain complex Ab Initio graphs for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Work with various data formats (structured, semi-structured) and sources (databases, flat files, XML).
- Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand data mapping and transformation rules.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of Ab Initio graphs and ETL jobs.
- Support and troubleshoot existing ETL processes in development, test, and production environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Overall Experience: 8+ years of hands-on development experience with the Ab Initio ETL platform.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in the Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE).
- Strong experience in building and debugging complex graphs using various components (Reformat, Join, Scan, Rollup, etc.).
- Experience with Ab Initio Express>IT is a plus.
- Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, Teradata).
- Level-Specific Expectations:
- For E2.2 Level (Mid-Level): A proficient developer who can independently build and unit test graphs based on technical specifications.
- For E3.1 Level (Senior-Level): All of the above, plus the ability to handle more complex data integration scenarios, lead the technical design of ETL solutions, perform advanced performance tuning, and provide guidance to other developers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Ab Initio Metadata Hub (MDH) and Control Center.
- Knowledge of Big Data environments and Hadoop.
- Local to the Alpharetta, GA area is strongly preferred.
