Job Title: Network Engineer - Automation, API & Cloud (Hybrid)

Location: Allentown, PA
Hybrid: 2 days onsite/week
2-Year Contract (Opportunity for extension, opportunity for conversion Full-Time)

Overview

TEKsystems is seeking a Network Engineer with strong automation, API integration, DevOps, and cloud networking experience to join their IT IO Data Networking team. This role supports a highly regulated enterprise network environment and is ideal for candidates who thrive in hybrid cloud infrastructure and automation-driven operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and compliance support for enterprise network infrastructure.
• Automate network provisioning and configuration using Puppet, Python, and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams to integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and manage cloud network components in Azure or AWS, including VNETs, VPN gateways, and security integrations.
• Support routing, switching, and firewall configurations across data centers and cloud environments.
• Participate in on-call rotation and ensure high availability of network services.

Required Skills

• Cloud Networking: Azure (preferred), AWS acceptable; experience deploying cloud components via APIs.
• Automation & DevOps:
• Strong experience with Puppet (required).
• Proficiency in Python scripting, RESTCONF/REST APIs, Terraform, Bicep, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience using Postman for API testing and data extraction.
• Network Engineering:
  • Cisco routing/switching in medium to large enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, and L1-L3 protocols.
  • Experience with Cisco ACI (especially in cloud environments), SD-WAN, and Infoblox DNS/DHCP.
• Security:
  • Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower, VPNs, ACLs, segmentation policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in IT with 4-6+ years of experience, or 8+ years without a degree.
• Experience with Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, and Cisco Wireless.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud deployments and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Location Flexibility

• Preferred: Candidates within 50 miles or ~1 hour of Allentown, PA.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $75.00/hr.
