Client. is seeking a highly motivated Electromechanical Designer-Technician to design, document and implement electrical systems for client Aerosol Jet 3D printing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully designing, building and troubleshooting electromechanical systems from inception to completion, while maintaining high quality standards. This role requires good understanding of electrical and electromechanical system design and documentation best practices. A team player with the ability to work with minimal direction, as well as the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment is important for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
System Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to conceptualize, design, and develop electromechanical systems and products. Specify and select electrical and electromechanical components including control components, actuators, motors, sensors, cables, connectors etc. Integrate components into systems and prototype designs where necessary to validate design concepts.
Testing, Troubleshooting and Validation: Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of electromechanical systems. Analyze test data and make necessary design modifications to meet specifications. Identify and resolve electromechanical system issues through troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed technical documentation, including engineering drawings, schematics, and reports. Participate in the design change process and support the maintenance and advancement of processes for best practices at client.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that electromechanical systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Collaboration and Communication: Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions effectively to team members and stakeholders. Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders, including progress updates, risks, and issues.
Qualifications:
Two to four year technical degree. Associate degree in automation & controls engineering, electronic engineering technology or similar.
Proven experience (typically 2+ years) involved in product design process, successfully designing, documenting and testing complex electrical and electromechanical products.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, electrical and mechanical principles.
Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
High proficiency in electrical testing equipment and tools
Exposure to programming languages and experience with PLC programming.
Fluent reading wiring diagrams, schematics, flow diagrams and mechanical drawings.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems and components
Experience in Additive Manufacturing and motion control is a plus.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing electromechanical components and systems.
Exposure to schematic capture tools
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electromechanical engineering (e.g., ISO, UL).
Ability to travel up to 25%
