Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM mainframe technologies and a proven ability to support mission-critical systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL applications on IBM mainframe systems.

  • Write and manage JCL for batch processing and scheduling.

  • Work with DB2 databases for data access and performance tuning.

  • Develop and support CICS online transactions.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Perform unit testing, debugging, and production support.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of experience as a Mainframe Developer.

  • Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.

  • Experience with VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe utilities.

  • Familiarity with job scheduling tools such as CA-7, Control-M, or Autosys.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working in Agile or Waterfall environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or government projects.

  • Knowledge of IMS/DB, REXX, or source control tools (Endevor, Changeman).

  • Exposure to mainframe modernization or migration initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.


Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
