Quality Assurance Analyst Advanced
Project Duration: 12 Months
Work Location: Columbia, South Carolina (Hybrid-3 days remote, 2 days onsite)
Hours/Week: 40 Hours
Work Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
Scope of the Project:
The Quality Assurance Tester Advanced will support testing efforts for a range of SCDHHS projects from minor system updates to large-scale Medicaid system overhauls. This role ensures software quality and reliability through comprehensive testing of web-based and enterprise applications, including testing of IBM Curam systems.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
- Perform functional and regression testing to isolate and identify software issues
- Translate business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios
- Develop test plans and user acceptance testing (UAT) documentation
- Design and execute user interface and system-level tests
- Perform negative and usability testing to uncover unexpected behaviors
- Create and run automated testing scripts as applicable
- Communicate testing results, open issues, and progress to development and project teams
- Provide clear defect documentation and support defect remediation efforts
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance governance policies and best practices
- Maintain testing documentation and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Required Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance):
- 3+ years of experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases/scenarios
- 3+ years of experience building and executing test cases/scenarios in test environments
- 2+ years of hands-on testing experience with IBM Curam software
- Ability to document and support the development of test scenarios and their execution
- Strong communication skills to publish status reports, articulate test findings, and coordinate with development teams
Preferred Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance):
- 5+ years of experience in large enterprise or e-business system testing
- Deep knowledge of Medicaid or healthcare operations and business processes
- Proficiency in Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence
- Experience working within both Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies
Required Education:
- Bachelor s degree in a technical, business, or related field
- Equivalent years of experience may substitute for formal education
Required Certifications:
- None required
- Desirable: Technical certifications or project management certifications (e.g., ISTQB, PMP, Scrum Master)
Public Sector / Government Experience:
- IBM Curam and Medicaid experience desirable, but not required
