Akkodis is searching for an experienced Engineering Technician for this contract-to-hire opportunity. This position requires a self-motivated team player with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced semiconductor assembly prototype operation. Duties will include assembly operations, programming and troubleshooting on processes ranging from Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) to Sputtering.

***Starts as Day Shift and converts to Permanent Night Shift position***

Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $35/hrly on contract
Location: Newport, CA or Irvine, CA

Training: Day Shift - Monday - Friday

Training Duration: 9 - 12 months

Training Location: Newport and/or Irvine, CA

Working Shift after Training: Night Shift3rd shift + 10% differential

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:30pm to 7am

Requirements/Desired Experience
  • Applicants need to be familiar with assembly equipment such as: solder screen printing, SMT placement machines, die attach equipment, Gold Wire Ball Bonders, compression auto mold, laser marking, surface grinding, saw singulation and sputtering equipment.
  • Ability to run and operate this various semiconductor assembly equipment. In addition, they should have the ability to do minor machine maintenance, trouble shooting and minor machine preventative maintenance.
  • The capability to use various hand tools, measuring tools, DVMs, ohm meters and tweezers is required as well as the ability to read and analyze schematics, wire bond diagrams and drawings.
  • Ample knowledge and ability in the use of Microsoft Office - MS Word, Power Point and Excel for reporting tasks.
  • Position requires an Associate's degree (or equivalent years of experience) and 4 years of experience.

Associate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is desired.
